XQ,
Does this mean that a JW that dies before Armaggedon has really wasted all their time in service, since I would be brought back just like them?

what is the current teaching on resurrection of a jehovah's witness.
if they are active when they die will they be resurrected?do they have to meet so many hours, so many books placed?.
the reason for this question is that my jw friend just had a very close jw friend of theirs die.

yep, as pis#*ed off as she obviously was at losing to a young russian..............did i say lose????????
sorry, i meant got thrashed................she then proceeded in her speech to say "and i thank my god jehovah for getting me here.
" or something to that effect!
actually it is somewhat odd for a JWS to thank Jehovah (at least in public) for "worldy things. I have seen a lot of "born-again" persons, thank jesus but well i found it odd she would publically thank jehovah.
Can she count that time for her field service? 5 seconds times 12 people equals 1 minute. 12 people times 60 minutes equals 720 people. 720 people times 80 hours equals 57,600 people. So if 57,600 people saw that broadcast Serena became an instant pioneer. It all comes down to the numbers.

Maybe it has been answered and I am over looking it, but what in sures a Jehovah's Witness that they have done enough work to be part of the resurrection?
Could that not do enough, because they had the light and did not perform to Jehovah's standard for the enlightened?

From this could I ask the question, "When your from is recreated from Jehovah's memory, will see take on the same body?"
Sorry that is suppose to be:

Thanks again to everyone that is contributing to this. I am learning from these responses.
The WT "resurrection" doctrine is that Jehovah will find some dirt from somewhere else, and create a new body that looks like the original person (who remains dead forever). This new body is "stamped" with a information in Jehovahs brain so that it believes that it is the original person.
From this could I ask the question, "When your from is recreated from Jehovah's memory, will see take on the same body?"

Thanks for the inputs and I am sure more is to come. I see how small changes and little words as in "is" can make a difference in what is meant.
Ok now to the oriignal poster, I am not quite sure of your meaning of your last question about what you should say. Kindness is always the best choice and it is best just to say you are sorry and ask if there is anything that you can do. You shouldn't get into religion at all. Let your friend believe whatever they choose to believe. If they believe the other friend will be resurrected allow your friend to be comforted by that belief, even if to your own mind it is absurd or wrong.
I think that is what I meant when I asked about things that I could say that were not mean spirited. I am not looking to attack her beliefs at this time, althought I want to. At this time I want to be a comfort, but start planting some real seeds of doubt.
Thanks again,

i believe i finally found the perfect venue for me to picket, duluth ga, which is just outside of atlanta.the conventions there are the 2nd and 3rd weekend in august.
i know absolutley no one in georgia and there are no chances i could run into any family members there.
there are a couple of conventions before then in s.c. and johnson city tennessee, however for various reasons-monetary and otherwise i am choosing georgia.
Is there times at the convetion that they have everybody stand up and do something?
If they do, why not try and fill a whole section with the sharpest looking JWs they have ever seen. Than when they have everybody stand, that section could remain seated.

The reason for this question is that my JW friend just had a very close JW friend of theirs die. How is she going to be sure that her friend is worthy enough to be resurrected?
What can I say that is not mean spirited to get her to think about what assurance she does not have as a JW?

i was always a shy kid that desperately wanted to make my parents proud.
at about this same time i started to hang out with some guys that my dad didn?t particularly approve of.
i wonder how my life would have turned out had i stopped at any point between ages 14 and 19 and asked myself who exactly i was doing all this for.
Michael,
Welcome here. I hope that you will find some solace among friends that understand you.
Hope that you can also find some comfort that there are people who have never experienced what you have are pulling for you.
One day you might find that because of your courage, others in your family are able to find freedom.

the watchtower and many others claim something happend in 607. this is based on the idea the bible is acurate.
the watchtower states in a few places 586 is the "real date" but they would make the bible wrong which is a no no.
i know they have a vested interest in 607. i can't figure out why is this such a controversy.
Okay, I am having problems so I will just retype the last paragraph. Originally built by Solomon in 966 B.C., the Temple at Jerusalem was destroyed four hundred years later in B.C. 586 when the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and carried the inhabitants of Judah into exile. Subsequently, during the reign of Cyrus the Persian, the Jewish captives and exiles were allowed to return to Palestine. Then the prophets, Haggai and Zechariah, appealed tothe people to rebuild the Temple. Sorry for the misposts, Triple A
